The theater department at the university both of my children attend is presenting “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)” and I can’t wait to see it! If you’ve never heard of the show, it’s a comical compilation of The Bard’s works, presented by three actors and (supposedly) involving some audience participation. My daughter and I have heard about it but never seen it, my husband is a fan of Shakespeare, and my son is going along for the outing, so we’re all smiling in anticipation!
Here’s what else I’m smiling about this week.
I’m still working at my new project and am still enjoying it. It’s taking up a lot of my time, which is why I haven’t been as active on social media or visiting other blogs lately. The “new normal” of my schedule is yet to be found. My family has been wonderful about everything as I reorganize our lives. I’m so grateful for them!
I’ll highlight one new favorite and one old favorite from my kitchen. Hopefully you saw the Cheesy Chicken Ranch Panini recipe I posted earlier this week. It is so easy and so yummy!
My daughter had a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day at university this week, so I whipped up a batch of No-bake Cookies to put a smile on her face. They’re not only her favorites, but also a quick way to make a small batch of cookies. The last thing I need is to be left alone in the house with a huge batch of delicious, homemade, chocolate cookies!
New Year’s Goals
My 52 Week Savings Challenge continues. I’m still faithfully adding my weekly deposit and the spare change is helping my total. There is not enough change to roll yet, but hopefully soon!
I completed my knitting goal early in the year but have been busy with that new project and so I haven’t tackled any new knitting patterns recently. The bamboo stitch wristers I made have come in handy on chilly mornings. Thankfully, the days of needing those wristers may be behind me for a while since Spring finally seems to be arriving!
Unfortunately, I have not completed my 90-Day Bible Reading in 90 days. I’m so close, but I doubt I’ll finish by tonight. I’m still going to finish and will let you know how many days it actually takes me. At any rate, it should be far less than the year it took me to get through the entire Bible the last time, and that still makes me smile!
What are you smiling about today?
