5 Sewing Patterns I’d Like to Try

Now that we’re getting settled in our new house, cross country season is almost over, and we decided to put any major home improvement projects off until after Christmas, I have time to daydream a bit about things I’d like to try to sew for Christmas gifts or as useful items around the house. I haven’t used my machine in months, so a little mental health day with fabric sounds fun! Bring on the DIY and the sewing projects!

I have a Stuff I Might Like to Sew Pinterest board where I pin some of the patterns I find, but my Craftsy account contains many more patterns, all of which I found for FREE on the site. You’ll need to hop over to Craftsy and sign up for your own free account if you want to download some of these patterns.

My daughter loves penguins, so I had to grab this cute Penguin Plush pattern from Craftsy. It is free at the time of this post.

I’m a huge fan of upcycled denim projects, so I had to pin this Denim Basket pattern. With the old jeans laying around my house, it would be easy to make some baskets as gifts.

Don’t tell my daughter, but I really want to make her one of these Trapper Hats. I think she’d love it!

I keep meaning to make myself a set of these Reusable Bowl and Casserole Covers. They would be so convenient for home use and for carry-in suppers.

We had a baby shower at church recently, so that must be why I was drawn to these little Baby Mittens. So sweet and snuggly for a little one!

Will you be doing any sewing for Christmas?

I moderate comments manually but will get them posted as quickly as possible. Please keep your comments kind and if you must disagree please do so without being disagreeable. Rude or inappropriate comments will obviously not be published.
