Family First

These “Lazy Days of Summer” are anything but at my house! We’ve begun another round of renovations by pulling up more carpet and doing lots more painting. It’s all ugly, ugly, ugly right now, so no pictures, but it’ll be beautiful very soon!

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” – Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)

We do have things on the schedule other than renovations. My son is working full time but irregular hours. My daughter is taking a national university entrance exam this morning (the ACT for those of you in the States) and leaving for two weeks of dual enrollment university summer studies this afternoon. There’s also a lot going on at church with Vacation Bible School fast approaching. It’s all good stuff, just lots of stuff all at once.

There are also family things that I can’t tell you about right now. I hate not sharing recipes or crafts or visiting other blogs like I usually do, but right now I’m in “family first” mode. Given the nature of this blog and the comments you’ve shared here, I suspect you understand. Thanks for that and for bearing with me during this hectic time.

I’ll probably get pictures of the home updates on Facebook sooner than I’ll be able to post them here, so please click over and give the page a “Like” to get those updates in your news feed. Thank you for being such a lovely blog community!

Are your summer days lazy or busy? What are you up to this weekend?

I moderate comments manually but will get them posted as quickly as possible. Please keep your comments kind and if you must disagree please do so without being disagreeable. Rude or inappropriate comments will obviously not be published.

  1. I hope your family problems resolve themselves quickly.

Summer is very busy around here, and into fall. Winter is always more my quiet time, time to relax. We have the gardens and animals, canning etc., family reunions, weddings, birthdays, new babies due, auctions to attend, VBS, summer reading program activities, but I only work 2 days a weeks when school is out.

This coming weekend my oldest son is hosting the Father’s Day get together at his house to celebrate his father (my husband Levi) and his father in law. My mother will be there too. She is the only one of the grandparents that is left. My oldest girl and her family will spend Saturday visiting his family until after church on Sunday, so they will be there too. We ladies have all been planning the menu.

    • Thankfully the family stuff is not a problem! It’s actually quite good, just not something I can share here quite yet.

Your family gathering sounds fun! I hope you all have a lovely time and make lots of good memories.
