So I’m chaperoning a youth trip this weekend and am in a somewhat remote location bonding with 20 or so teenagers. Please, try to control your envy!

They’re great kids, actually, and a lot of fun. But they have a lot of energy! Did you read my post yesterday? Training up young people is so important and so difficult to do well and so exhausting!

A couple of days ago I figured out that I’d be someplace somewhat remote, without a computer, with 20 or so teenagers and exhaustion today. So I typed up this confession in advance to beg your forgiveness for not posting a recipe or DIY project or roller coaster tale about my garden.

However, if you want a cute DIY project that will yield a game you can play when you’re done, try the Giant Dice I wrote about here.

If you want to read about our adventures when Hurricane Ike visited suburbia, the posts are as follows:

  • Ike Comes to the Midwest – part 1 is here.
  • Ike Comes to the Midwest – part 2 is here.
  • Ike Comes to the Midwest – part 3 is here.
  • Ike Comes to the Midwest – part 4 is here.
  • Ike Comes to the Midwest – conclusion is here.

And if you just want a cool drink, try the Vanilla-Mocha Iced Coffee I went on and on about here.

What are you doing this weekend? I hope it’s fun (and not too exhausting)!

I moderate comments manually but will get them posted as quickly as possible. Please keep your comments kind and if you must disagree please do so without being disagreeable. Rude or inappropriate comments will obviously not be published.

  1. Hi,
I met you on Danny’ July Meet and Greet. What energy you must have to chaperone those teenagers. I teach preteens, but I don’t chaperone! Nice to meet you.
